The only reason that I still watch the Weather Channel ...Jim Cantore. Interesting how the reporter said that the weather channel would never get away from their primary focus .🥺 Is that why in 2024, they have shows about salvage companies, lumberjacks, gold prospecters and air crash investigations ? What do they have to do with weather ?

I would give anything to take all my loved ones and rocket back in time to 1982.

I wish The Weather Channel kept Dennis Smith after 2002. He and Bill Keneely should have stayed past 2012 on The Weather Channel. Nothing against Jim Cantore, but Dennis Smith was involved in a lot of historical events. -Multiple hurricanes (including Andrew) -The Andover, Kansas tornado of 1991. -Special weather events. Obviously The Weather Channel had no respect for their original meteorologists. Bill Keneely was the last original meteorologist and he lasted 28 years on The Weather Channel.

I am amazed how little The Weather Channel changed from the late-90s (when I remembered it) and 1982... I mean, apart from the disco-tastic wardrobe.

I love the Weather Channel. It's been on the air for as long as I can remember, and I remember watching it with my parents when I was a kid. Their forecasts are always so detailed and the weather team is so knowledgeable. I also love the music they play during the local forecasts. It's always such a fun mix of songs, and I always find myself singing along. I've put together a playlist with all of the songs from the July 17, 1982 broadcast, which I've linked below.👍

I had no idea Vince Miller started with TWC when they debuted! Learn something new everyday!

They pronounced Mercer County, NJ as “Mercy County” 😂 he wasn’t even in the right spot, that storm was passing out of Philadelphia into either Camden or Burlington County, NJ. Also pronounced Monmouth County, NJ as “Mammoth County.” 😂. I guess after 40+ years it doesn’t matter, but weather people are usually better with their geography!

Pretty cool video. Was cool to see Hinckley lake, and there was a doppler radar tower off 77 I never knew existed. A few more degrees to the east and you would have had a view of the nudist campground near 271, lol you missed that shot. Thanks for posting!
